The first semester of the 2011-2012 school year has kicked off quite well. Our Viking Battalion has already completed many volunteer activities and are on their way to do a lot more.

Next Saturday, February 25, 2012- The Viking Battalion will be holding their Military Ball at the Salem Conference Center: 200 Commercial St. SE Salem, Oregon. This is a formal event and all cadets are invited to attend and bring dates. Male Cadets will wear the Class A Uniform, and Females either in Formal Gown or their Class A with Skirt. The Military Ball will begin at 6:30 PM and end at 11:00 PM.

JCLC- There has been a change in the schedule for the dates of JCLC. Instead of being what they were, they are now:25 April 2012 through 29 April 2012

Uniforms! Everyone will wear their uniforms every Friday unless told otherwise by the Battalion Commander or one of the Instructors. If any cadet does not have their uniform, they need to stay after school and recieve their uniform pieces, or get with the S-4, Joe Drew, and schedule an appointment to receive the pieces you are in need of. Cadet Challenge-  Cadet challenge was completed successfully. If you have not completed your Cadet Challenge, see First Sergeant, Colonel, or the S-1, Gennessis Castillo.

Veteran’s Day Parade- Some cadets of the Viking Battalion are going to participate in the Veteran’s Day Parade in Albany. We plan to have a Color Guard lead the Viking Battalion procession. The Veteran’s Day Parade will be held November 11, 2011.

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011- The VFW is holding a Uniform Display at 9 AM in Evergreen. 3-5 Cadets will represent the Viking Battalion. The uniform of the day is school clothes. Cadets will be returning by 2:15-2:30. Cadets are required to have a “C” or higher in all classes to go on the trip
