PT Days

PT days are Tuesday and Thursday. Everyone needs to dress out appropriately in an appropriate T-shirt and shorts or sweatpants.

Uniform days are on Friday. Friday, 9 March 2012, there will be no uniform day. There is also no school for grading/furlough.

Charlie Company

12 January 2012- There is a Charlie Company meeting on the Blacktop outside the portable from 1430 to 1500. The general topic of this meeting will be the Service Learning project, and possible side projects.

Charlie Company Commander Alec Delzer-Alec Delzer was born in Salem Oregon on April 8^th, 1995. He has lived in Salem all his life and is currently enrolled as a student at North Salem High School. He is the son of Christina and Brett Delzer, and brother to Derek Delzer.

Alec joined JROTC his freshman year, and by January of 2010 became an assistant squad leader for 3^rd Squad, Alpha Company. His sophomore year he started as a Squad leader in 1^st platoon, Bravo Company; but was promoted to Platoon Sergeant halfway through the school year and served as 2^nd Platoon Sergeant, Alpha Company. During JCLC (JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge), he was the First Sergeant for Echo Training Company during the daily training exercises. He currently serves as the Company Commander for Charlie Company.

He has been awarded the American Legion Scholastic Excellence award and the veterans of Foreign Wars JROTC Citation and Medal award for Outstanding Leadership. He won cadet of the Quarter, second quarter his freshman year. Alec joined The Air-Rifle team his sophomore year and competed as a Sporter-1 shooter, earning two 1^st place Medals in marksman and sharpshooter divisions, and is now shooting on the precision air-rifle team.

Grades are very important to him and he currently holds a 4.0 GPA. He has always had an interest in the military and has Aspirations of being a leader in the United States Army. He wishes to go to the west Point Military Academy and become Infantry Officer. He also wants to go to Air Assault and Airborne school.

Charlie Company First Sergeant Gabee Perez- C/1SG Gabriela Perez Miranda was born in Salem Oregon but grew up in Copuyo Michoacán, Mexico for three years. She ended up moving back to Salem in 1995. Gabriela is the oldest out of 5 kids in her family. She is currently a senior at North Salem High School.

Gabriela enrolled in the JROTC program her sophomore year. Her first year she went out for the Unarmed Drill team. Ever since she has been on the team. Her first year she was avery active cadet in the Viking Battalion. Her Junior year she held an Assistant Squad Leader position and received the American Legion General Military Excellence Award. In 2010 Gabriela started out as a PSG for Alpha Company and in January 2011 she was promoted to a Company 1SG for Charlie Company. Being promoted to a higher rank didn’t only give her the opportunity to learn but to lead others, with a lot more responsibility. To Gabriela having more responsibility she gets more desire to do her best and give it all she has to the Viking Battalion. The way she she’s it is that she gets the opportunity to work on her leadership skills and be able to lead others.

C/1SG Gabriela Perez Miranda hopes to leave and come back in the future and see her cadets in leadership positions and just doing their best for this amazing program at North Salem High School.
